MBM ARCHITECTS
Oriol Bohigas was the Minster for Culture for Catalunia and had secured the masterplanning of the 1992 Olympics, so MBM had lots of exciting work. Steve Jensen was employed to draw and visualise space, and immediately worked on ideas for projects in and around the Olympic Village. Mainly working on the design of the buildings in the new marina, being quite unique at the time utilising a clever series of rooftop structures which scooped sunlight into the interior.
Other large scale projects included the regeneration of Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, working on the masterplanning and the overall aesthetic and materials of the proposals and the masterplanning of the Val d’Oise district in Paris, a new business quarter including mixed use and residential buildings, this project was based on Barcelona’s Eixample grid creating a rhythmic series of blocks interspersed with highways and boulevards.
Other projects included detailing a new Clivic Centre in Ordino, producing tender documentation for a Hotel in Mexico and several more local Catalonian office buildings and residential proposals.
