A selection of hand drawings, paintings and models from the last 35 years of learning about the world.

Starting drawing and painting from life, the human form allowed an understanding of the physical which informed spatial understanding. The drawings are Steve Jensen's early bedroom sketches, on to Art Foundation then through University and onto professional practice.

Being able to respond immediately to a space, an instantaneous hand/eye/brain connection is a lost art, responding to a place, client or builder in the moment which doesn't require iPad or digital interface, allows conversation and creative development in a human sensitive way.

The craft of drawing or making is fundamental to human creation, although the onslaught of digital media has afforded incredible and diverse new ways of working, we need to maintain the our most human of qualities which is in danger of being consigned to history.
